Grandma’s cookies have been around seemingly forever. I have vague memories of them being a snacking staple during my childhood. I was probably drawn in by the grandma packaging and promise that these store bought cookies were just like my Grandma’s excellent homemade from scratch variety.
So, when I spotted these at my local grocery store, I decided to take a trip down memory lane. Let’s cut to the chase: these cookies do indeed taste like Grandma’s…. IF grandma worked at Frito-Lay operating a large machine that mixes bulk amount of artificial-tasting cookie-like material with dusty hardened chocolate chipesque morsels. These ARE NOT good cookies.
Did I finish the package? Yes. Would I binge eat a dozen or so, if given the opportunity? Almost certainly. But I stand by my review… not good cookies, and an insult to Grandmas everywhere.
